Description

I was viewing the GLIMPSE360 Spitzer images

(Courtesy NASA/JPL-Caltech http://www.spitzer.caltech.edu/glimpse360/wwt). Scanning the infrared (IR) image I could identify most of the emission nebula that we amateurs shoot. I thought it would be interesting to show the difference between a narrowband mapped image in visual light and the IR image taken by Spitzer of the same object.

The narrowband image comes from an earlier post (http://www.astrobin.com/55571/B/ ). The IR Spitzer image was made by zooming to the wide field Spitzer image, capturing a number of screen shots and constructing a mosaic in PixInsight. Then aligning the images in PixInsight and generating the animation in PhotoShop.

Be sure to visit the Spitzer link above. The 360 degree image is fascinating.
